As a first-time mom, I rarely went anywhere without my new little baby. I loved toting her along, receiving accolades from fellow shoppers, smiling down on her sleeping form, and living the life I envisioned when I was a little girl who took a dolly everywhere.
This worked fine when she was 8 or 10 pounds, but when she doubled her weight by the time she was 2 months old and stopped sleeping so soundly, reality swiftly arrived.
