Gerald Briggs is a clinical pharmacist and a member of the our site Medical Advisory Board. He is coauthor of the reference guide Drugs in Pregnancy and Lactation and coeditor of the book Diseases, Complications, and Drug Therapy in Obstetrics. Although retired, he continues to work on the new editions of his reference guide.
Briggs received his degree in chemistry from California State University, Chico and his Bachelor of Pharmacy with distinction from Washington State University, Pullman.
He served for 46 years as a pharmacist clinical specialist at the MemorialCare Center for Women at Miller Children's & Women's Hospital, Long Beach Medical Center.
Briggs has also been a clinical professor at the University of California, San Francisco; University of Southern California in Los Angeles; and Washington State University in Spokane. He taught obstetric pharmacotherapy for more than 40 years and has been recognized by students as their best clinical teacher. He has received national awards from his peers for his contributions to medical literature.
