Question (1/0)

My baby doesn't eat! Learn about Dr. Carlos Gonzalez's solutions

From the moment your little one comes to the world, he begins to worry about his diet. In the first 6 months, it is simpler, because the baby eats only milk, but from the moment of diversification the questions arise:

When is he ready to start eating solid foods?

• What kind of diversification do I adopt, self-diversification or classical, with mash?

• What kind of foods do I start with: fruits, vegetables, cereals?

• When do I feed them before or after breastfeeding?

• How much should you eat at the beginning, at 1 year, 2, 3?

• What do I do if the baby / child refuses to eat?

The diversification of the baby's diet and the baby's diet are topics as sensitive, as controversial. WHO recommends that solids should not be introduced before 6 months and only if the baby is ready (stand alone in the ass, grab and bake what he has in his hand, is curious about what you eat). When you first offer them food, you can opt for vegetables or fruits. Start gradually, offering him only one food at a time. When it comes to which diversification option to choose, self-diversification or the classic one, it is best to see and test what version suits your child. There are babies who eat very well from the teaspoon and others who refuse it completely.

In the first year of life, breast milk is the basis of nutrition, and solid foods complement it. Basically, the baby gets used to the texture, smell and aroma of new foods. Before giving him a new food, breastfeed him. Thus, the village being, it will be more open to try new tastes. If he is very hungry, he may not cooperate and refuse.

On the other hand, there are babies for whom the acceptance of solids can be a big challenge. Some of them will start eating after the age of 1, and another will continue to do so for a while. It doesn't have to be a problem, as long as the baby is breastfed.

When it comes to the time of the meal, we must have patience with the little one, not force him ("do not get up from the table until you finish the plate"), not reward him ("if you eat, you get drawings or something sweet ") or to emotionally blackmail them (" eat a spoon for the mother, one for the father ... "or" I am angry if you do not eat "). Such methods lead to unpleasant situations in the period of maturity, sometimes even pathological. Children raised in this way can become obese as they consume a greater amount of food than necessary, because they cover emotional shortcomings through eating.

As the child grows up, there are many other situations that raise, in turn, other questions and for which you can hardly find the correct answers:

• not eating enough or eating constantly;

• does not accept solid food or healthy foods at all;

• eat well, but ask for lots of sweets;

• (seems to) not grow well in weight;

• you are told by those around you that you ask too often to be breastfed or, on the contrary, you seem to be starting to refuse breasts after diversification;

• eat only if it is distracted;

• you have been recommended a rigid diversification scheme and the small one does not respond well;

• you do not know what it means or how to create healthy long-term habits and turn meals into a pleasure, etc.

We are all different from each other and so are the babies / children, and their behavior regarding food is as different as possible. Often, parents fail to find balance and for this reason, in many cases, conflicts arise during meals.

Always give your child an extra option when eating on the table. It must be something healthy and to like (an apple, a carrot, etc.). Let him choose, eat what he has prepared or the extra version. Don't cook separately for him.

In many countries, including Romania, feeding the children is strictly recommended by the doctor, and mothers are advised to give their children exact amounts of certain foods, following a rigid schedule, which is NOT indicated! Not working…

"As an adult, have you ever been fed by someone? Try and you will understand! It is very unpleasant for someone to induce a fork in your mouth, to be forced to eat foods you do not like or to constantly monitor your portions. "he says Dr. Carlos GONZALEZ, expert in child nutrition.

In terms of food style, the beginning is very important! And not just now, but also for the future adult.

"Eating habits are formed in the first years of life and change later with greater effort. In my practice as a Breastfeeding Consultant or at the Diversification Courses I support, I meet different situations related to the feeding of children, either during breastfeeding. exclusive, or after the diversification of the diet - I meet many mothers who tell me what mistakes they made with the children, for fear that they do not eat enough. They tricked them or insisted on a rigid scheme and only got the opposite effect. we relax about the baby's nutrition and understand the correct principles of eating approach, "he says Sorana MURESAN, IBCLC Breastfeeding Consultant and President of the ProMAMA Association.

The poisoned ball is a game with which children can learn to share, throw, and increase their agility. It is a competitive game that aims to get all the players to become the attacking team. For children to play this game, they will need a soft ball.

Poison Ball is a game that is geared toward children 6-10 years old. To play it, it is necessary to gather 8 to 24 players and it is usually practiced in free spaces.

Two teams of equal number of players are formed, by lottery, or chosen by the representative of each team. One is in the center and the other is divided in two, surrounding the other team. The child who has chosen first begins the game, throwing the ball and trying to hit it (or contaminate) one of the components of the other group, which is in the center, without the ball touching the ground or being caught by some of the centrals. The team inside must try to dodge the ball thrown by the other group, without leaving a defined space.

If he manages to hit a member of the opposing team, the hit player is eliminated from the game. If any player in the center catches the ball, the one who is eliminated is the boy who threw the poisoned ball. What this game is about is that whoever has the microbe or is poisoned, tries to infect the players of the opposing team.

To continue the game, the same player who has collected the ball, quickly throws it against one of the players of the opposing team, in order to hit him to eliminate it, while they move away to avoid it. If the ball is picked up by any of them, the one who has thrown is eliminated. The team that manages to eliminate all its opponents will win.

The game ends when all players are infected by the microbe.

Beware of decay in the milk teeth!

Beware of decay in the milk teeth!

Tooth Decay Caused by Bottles

Tooth decay can be seen in infancy and preschool period due to malnutrition and breastfeeding habits. It causes excessive damage to the primary teeth. Pedodontist Sibel Emiroğlu working in Acıbadem Hospital Kadıköy baby bottle decay, its causes and consequences.

The reasons for the bottle decay are the feeding of the bottle and the mother's breast for years, feeding the child a bottle of milk mixed with various sweetening foods during the night feeding, the use of the pacifier immersed in sugar and honey, and the feeding of the delight, especially during sleep.

Reduced swallowing reflex and saliva flow during sleep prolongs caries' residence time on teeth. Prolonged contact of milk with teeth (including breast milk and all kinds of milk) causes significant caries. Carbohydrates added to milk also increase the caries effect.

Usually only the roots remain in the mouth as the incisors are completely devastated. Caries gradually spread to the rear teeth. During sucking, the lower incisors decay much less than they are covered by the tongue and protected by saliva.

Milk should be regarded as a potentially rotten food and should comply with normal oral hygiene rules. Teeth should be brushed and / or rinsed with water. Sweeteners should not be mixed into the milk.

Restoring nutritional habits is a multifactorial approach to the application of professional caries inhibitors such as fissure sealants and fluoride, to maintain oral hygiene and to prevent caries.

Bottle rot is not expected in every child who uses a bottle. The dental health of the family, pregnancy and birth history of the mother, some personal characteristics of the babies (mineralization status of enamel layer, amount of saliva) play a role in the formation of caries.

Feeding disorders occur due to tooth pain in children with bottle decay, their overall health deteriorates and development is adversely affected. Again, these children tend to have gum disease and closure disorders.

Early diagnosis of bottle caries therefore makes the attention of the families important for the children to meet with dentists. In the treatment of such bruises that occur at a very young age, the problem of adaptation is encountered in children. Children are kept under control in order to continue the success of the treatments in the future.
