To facilitate the registration of as many projects as possible for the national contest "Milk City", the registration period is extended until Thursday, October 25, 10 am. The new phases of the project are available on the website of the competition laptescolar.ro/concurs/cum-particip.

The national creative contest "The City of Milk" was launched by Tetra Pak in partnership with the Ministry of Education, Research and Youth and FAO (United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization), thus marking the celebration of World Milk Day in Schools. Through this competition, students in grades I-IV and V-VIII are invited to show their creativity using recyclable cardboard packaging from school milk cans consumed in the classroom. The competition runs from October 1 to November 27, 2012, with the mention that children's works can be registered on the website www.laptescolar.ro only between October 15-25.

Tetra Pak's International Food for Development Department (FfDO) has been involved for over 50 years in promoting and supporting school nutrition programs in various countries around the world, including the European "Milk in Schools" program; it aims to promote a fair and balanced diet among children because milk is an essential food and children must develop proper nutritional habits.

The European "Milk in Schools" program is both educational and social in nature because it contributes to reducing school dropout, a worrying phenomenon worldwide, but also a problem facing poor families in Romania. According to the latest official data, in Romania, in the 2011-2012 school year 2,270,523 children from preschool, secondary and special education benefited from this program.

About the contest "Milk town"

Tetra Pak, together with the Ministry of Education and the FAO, launched the national prize competition, called "The City of Milk" to motivate students in grades I-VIII to recycle their school milk cans and to develop a responsible behavior towards the environment. The competition stimulates the team spirit and creativity of the students and offers them the opportunity to win individual prizes, but also useful prizes for the class and the coordinating teacher.

Registration for the competition: 15.10 (h 12th day) - 25.10 (10am)

Validation of the registered projects: 25.10 (10am) - 29.10 (23:59)

Voting: 29.10 (12 o'clock) - 12.11 (11:59 o'clock)

Judging: 12.11 (12 o'clock) - 18.11 (11:59 o'clock)

Announcement of results: 24-27.11

The teams wishing to participate in the competition must be made up of a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 10 students and a coordinating teacher, all from the same school and to carry out a project, according to the age group, which will respect the specified conditions and the registration steps. available on the contest website www.laptescolar.ro.

3 winning teams will be nominated for each age category, with both team prizes, useful for the class and school, as well as individual prizes for children and the coordinating teacher.
