Music can be for babies, according to the human voice, the best cognitive medium and the most appropriate way of learning. For maximum brain development, babies need the right stimuli. Avoiding over-stimulation is advisable, as it can lead to problems later, including ADD (attention deficit syndrome).
Music of good quality and age is the best way to provide a milestone in the development of your baby.
The development of the baby can be influenced by music
According to the results of some studies, classical music can have beneficial effects on the creative and cognitive development of the child, improving the capacity of memory and concentration while also offering a general well-being. This state of well-being is also transmitted when the mother listens to music during pregnancy.
After an age, music can successfully replace other activities such as watching TV or playing computer games. Installing an audio system or musical instrument can stimulate your appetite for music, singing or dancing.
Although the ability to play an instrument does not develop until the age of 3, it is never too late to let the little one explore music and musical instruments.
Music is also perceived in sleep by babies
During some experiments it was shown that the newborns gave birth to a sense of difference between the intensities of the sounds. The experiment consisted of placing electrodes on the scalp of some sleeping babies, for connection to an encephalograph. Another result was that babies are sensitive even to the rhythm of the music.
It seems, therefore, that we are born with an instinct of the brain to look for patterns, which it prints in memory and subsequently identifies.
While it remains unclear whether musical talent is innate or learned, it is clear that the power to sing and understand music is a specific human capacity.
Babies retain the music they perceive as long as they are in the womb
According to the results of a small UK study, children recognize and prefer the music they were exposed to while they were in their tummy. Researchers say they have not found evidence that music helps children become smarter, but it has been proven that environmental factors that fetuses are exposed to can have a long-term influence on their development.
Musical auditions during pregnancy and in the early years of the baby help to cultivate the taste for quality music regarding the little one.
The theory that babies can only remember a month or two is dismantled by British researchers, who claim that, according to their study, a 1-year-old baby recognized the music he received until three months before. birth.
This was demonstrated by a small experiment, which found that a group of mothers listened to different songs in the last three months of pregnancy, and after 12 months most of the babies recognized the song as being similar, tone, rhythm and power.
The preference for a particular song was measured by the number of seconds the babies spent looking at the source of music, the source associated with Pavlovian with a set of bright and colorful lights, which were stopped when the baby turned his gaze to another object.
Thus, babies quickly made the association between the direction they were in and the amount of music they could listen to.
Music style and rhythm
It seems that musical style is not important, because babies recognized UB40 just as Mozart recognized. The rhythm, however, seems to be important: babies who listened to faster rhythms (in experiment five bands were used and the beginning of the four seasons of Vivaldi) showed stronger preferences than those who listened to slower rhythms.
However, the memories of the little ones are not related to the development of their intelligence, because no difference was observed between those who listened to classical music and those who listened to reggae or pop.

Santa Monica was born in Algeria Around the year 330 in the bosom of a Christian family, so she was educated in this religion. However, she was married to a pagan Roman much older than her, since Monica was very young. However, the young woman managed to build a good relationship with her mother-in-law, who convinced her husband to convert to Christianity.

Situations in which amniocentesis is required
Amniocentesis, one of the modern methods that allows the detection of diseases and genetic abnormalities of the unborn child during pregnancy, is not a routine procedure recommended for all pregnant women. The situations in which amniocentesis is imposed are determined by the doctor when there is an increased risk of developing congenital problems.
The intervention involves taking a sample of amniotic fluid that surrounds the fetus and submitting it to a laboratory analysis. The test is performed starting with the 15th week of pregnancy.
When is amniocentesis recommended?
Because amniocentesis presents some risk of abortion, the specialists only use this procedure in appropriate circumstances.
A first criterion would be that of age, the risk of wearing a fetus with congenital defects being constantly increasing with the age of 35 years. Future mothers who fall into this category have a greater predisposition toward giving birth to a child with Down syndrome.
This genetic abnormality occurs in 1 in 1250 children in women up to the age of 30. The incidence of cases increases in the range of 30-35 years to 1 in 400, following that the frequency increases to 1 in 100 at the age of 40 and 1 in 30 at the age of 45.
Most pregnant women choose to do a special examination in the first or second trimester of pregnancy to get as much information about their baby's evolution, before accepting the amniocentesis.
Pregnancy or previous birth with birth defects
Another criterion that imposes this procedure is that of a previous pregnancy with birth defects. If the pregnancy has given birth to a child with genetic abnormalities or has had a pregnancy with chromosomal disorders, then the doctor will definitely require amniocentesis.
Family and personal history
At the same time, the future mother who has a family history in which there have been cases of newborns with congenital malformations will be advised to choose this method of prenatal diagnosis.
Another situation in which amniocentesis becomes necessary is when the future mother received abnormal results in the tests performed in the first trimester of pregnancy, more precisely a blood test and an ultrasound for the measurement of the nape of the neck (appreciation of the thickness of the skin fold at the level of the head to detect possible fetal malformations).
Occasionally, amniocentesis is used to identify Rh incompatibility, if the pregnancy is Rh negative, and the life partner is Rh positive.
How is amniocentesis performed?
Under the use of ultrasound for guidance, a very fine needle is inserted through the abdomen of the pregnant woman, until it reaches the amniotic fluid around the fetus. About 20 ml of this liquid is extracted and sent to the laboratory for analysis.
The procedure usually takes 5 to 10 minutes, and the mom will only feel a slight discomfort. The face will not notice the intervention in any way.
After completing the sampling process, the mother is advised to rest all day. There may also be a series of cramps due to amniocentesis, but leakage of blood or fluid into the vagina is a great alarm and involves immediate contact with the doctor.
If the pregnant blood group has a negative Rh index (one in eight women falls in this category), then it will be vaccinated against D by injecting gamaglobulin which will neutralize the Rh positive red blood cells in the blood of the pregnant woman.
Receiving the result
A preliminary result will be available in about 48 hours, and the final diagnosis will be established in two or three weeks.
How safe is the result?
Few things are 100% safe in life, and amniocentesis approaches this ideal with 99.9% accuracy in identifying chromosomal abnormalities.
What happens if the test shows problems?
Unfortunately, there is no treatment for congenital anomalies. As long as the diagnosis is established long before birth, and the problems are severe enough, then the pregnancy is directed toward termination of pregnancy.
However, the decision belongs entirely to the parents, which is why it is important for them to consider the impact that the potential negative result could have on their decision to keep or not the child.
